Fear free is a way of handling, examining, and performing treatments on animals that minimizes fear, anxiety, and stress. Leaving home, traveling in cars, and showing up in unfamiliar places with strange sights, smells, sounds, and people can be overwhelming to pets. This can cause them to behave in ways that are abnormal for them. By taking the extra time to help patients feel more comfortable and entice them with tasty treats, we can allow them to have more pleasant experiences here at the hospital. Fear free tactics can help decrease the stress at home before they ever step foot into the hospital. Our trained professionals are here to assist you from the beginning with those apprehensive trips to the vet.

What does AAHA accreditation mean?

Unlike human hospitals, animal hospitals are not required to be accredited. The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) evaluates veterinary hospitals on approximately 900 standards of veterinary excellence in order to become accredited. AAHA-accredited hospitals are recognized among the finest in the industry, and are consistently at the forefront of advanced veterinary medicine. The Standards of Accreditation are continuously reviewed and updated to keep our practice on the cutting edge of veterinary excellence. The standards address patient care and pain management, surgery, pharmacy, laboratory, exam facilities, medical records, cleanliness, emergency services, dental care, diagnostic imaging, anesthesiology, and continuing education. To maintain accredited status, hospitals undergo comprehensive on-site evaluations every three years.
